“ The decor tends to be more down to earth but love the food! Chef was really approachable. ”
“ Impeccable experience with Chef Daisuke and his team. Every dish was made with care and unique ingredients from Japan. Watching him prepare is a delight (different boards, knives, plates, etc). He made my 2 birthday friends feel extra special too! Would come back again for the next special occasion! ”
“ Chef is the coolest guy, had great conversations with him. Also food is top notch, by far better than other Michelin places like shoushin and kappo. Hands down the best Toronto. The chef’s extensive background is definitely reflected in his dishes. ”
“ Our experience at Yukashi was incredible. It was sophisticated, yet intimate. The staff were helpful when ordering drinks, describing the dishes, and were there waiting to serve us. The food was beautiful, unique, and very flavorful. The texture of the fish, meat, vegetables and sauces, paired well together. I tried new things I have never had, and found out I liked things I never thought I liked. The chef was funny, kind, and extremely passionate about his craft. You can tell he has created and cultured an incredible team to support his vision in the restaurant. There was not one dish we didn't like. It was all, perfect. All different. All pairing well together. And... To top it off, this is a unique non-Torontonian restaurant. Thank goodness. We have been trying to find something different. This is the perfect place for a date, a celebration, a business meeting. It is worth every penny. And don't be like me, get the drink pairing. I definitely missed out. My gf forgot to take pictures of everything, but I'll share what we did take. Definitely a failure on our part. So beautiful. The food was so breathtaking, we were in the moment and forgot to take pictures. ”
“ We tried Yukashi on a heavy snowy night but the whole experience made us forget about the hassles and troubles the snow brought. Love the cozy and super clean environment this little place offered which made us feel like we were in Japan for a second. Even the detailed decors on the way to washroom worth a photoshoot. The food tasted amazing and the presentation made each dish into an art piece!! We really appreciated the dedication and creativity Chef Izutsu and his team put into their work. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Chef Izutsu is a super professional , friendly and funny guy who has his own unique humour that we enjoyed a lot during the entire dinner :) Will definitely come back in spring when they change the menu. Highly recommended! ”
“ Food and presentation was phenomenal. Everything was so pretty yet delicious at the same time. Chef Izutsu was super friendly. I love when the chef interacts with you during your meal it makes the experience so much more fun! Thank you for making our anniversary dinner so memorable ”
“ We had a wonderful experience here. We were the only seating that day, so we were able to enjoy an exclusive experience. The food was wonderful, service was excellent..after the meal we were able to have a great conversation with chef izutsu about Japanese cuisine in Toronto and Japan. Very fortunate to have had such an intimate dining experience. ”
“ I love that somehow eating freshly torched foie gras on A5 Hidagyu wagyu beef, doesn’t seem crazy and pretentious and the chef makes you feel absolutely at home at his bar as he serves up delicious dish after dish. The chef has a great sense of humour, is so incredibly knowledgeable and the staff are very attentive. I also very much appreciated that I got stuck in traffic and while my friends did start without me, he waited until I was there to freshly prepare the couple of dishes I was behind on. I admit I was nervous to go eat there having not liked uni before at other places and seeing on reviews them used in a few dishes - I was thankfully wrong and I loved it. Fresh food and their origin does make that much of a difference! It is a pricy experience and if you have a big appetite you might want more but it was absolutely worth it. Sake menu very extensive as well (I can’t recall what I tried, one light and one deeper flavour - both were delicious!). Small differences like freshly grating the wasabi, even salt, made such lovely touches. Some dishes are so beautiful (the most complex matcha cookie, a smoked tomato flavour bomb, freshly puffed wheat dish was quite something!) while others are less picturesque but no less yummy. Also: having now had the crown musk melon, all other melon will be spoiled for a bit but wow what a lovely last bite (and epic knife to carve it). ”
